I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again, Houston is quickly becoming more dog friendly. It hasn’t quiet caught up with Austin, but we are getting there. Anyone with a dog knows their joy when you take them with you anywhere. These “Dog Days” posts are my way of sharing Winters’ favorite places around Houston. Quite frankly, they are some of my favorites too, and all very dog friendly. From breweries and bars to dog parks, each post will highlight a place we love! Today is all about a Sideout Volleybar, located in just north of downtown Houston off of North Main St.
Sideout Volleybar
While the main attraction here is Sand Volleyball, there is a completely enclosed dog park at Sideout Volleybar as well! I was first introduced to this place by an outdoors group in Houston, and it was quickly become a favorite. Getting to enjoy a few adult beverages and play the many games they have keeps everyone entertained, even the dogs.
Winters’ favorite activities, besides playing with her friends in the dog park, are fetching the bags for people playing corn hole and waiting for someone to hit the ping pong ball into the dog park so she can bring it back.
You can reserve a court on the Sideout Volleybar website, join a league, or just go for a few drinks and watch people play! Looking for a chance to play and meet other people around Houston, look for the public Volleyball events HTX Outdoors hosts. PLUS, keep an eye out on the schedule at the White Oak Music Hall Lawn because you can also hear the concerts at Sideout Volleybar…free concert anyone?
Check out more of our favorites around Houston on the Dog Days page, here. We will periodically be adding more. Head over to the All Things Winter page for all the outdoors activities Winter loves to do as well!
