When we got to the split to go to Malan’s Peak, we decided to venture up to Malan’s Spring and then turn back.

Desolation Trail to Salt Lake Overlook is yet another fun hike to a gorgeous view point over Salt Lake Valley. The trailhead is in Mill Creek Canyon and accessible year round!
Utah is known for its abundance of National Parks and Bryce Canyon National Park is the first of the 5 national parks in Utah I visited.
Since almost every national park is not dog friendly on the hiking trails, Red Canyon was the perfect spot to get in a hike with Winter!
Another Southern Utah destination you cannot miss is Hidden Haven Falls, a great stop between the Parowan Gap Petroglyphs and Cedar Breaks…
For popularity, the Bear Canyon Suspension Bridge is up there with the Living Room Lookout Hike. The trail is high traffic, but short and sweet
The Rattlesnake Gulch to Pipeline Overlook hike was my first venture into Mill Creek Canyon. You can bet it will not be my last!
I started this day out with a plan to hike the Bonneville Shoreline Trail from Hueghs Canyon. But plans change and instead I hiked Heughs Canyon Trail.
We managed to get two quick hikes in while I visited. The longer one an approximately 5 mile out and back section of the Florida National Scenic Trail, and the second at Camp Helen State Park.
The easy start is deceiving as the trail quickly turns into an up-mountain grind. For this Texas gal who is used to hiking on flat trails in low elevation, I appreciated the leg burner.
In true to Emily fashion, the destination was a waterfall. The trail of choice was Bells Canyon Trail to Lower Falls.Definitely a more difficult hike…
I am finally here! After 6 weeks spent in Oregon and a 3 day roadtrip through Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado, I finally arrived in Utah.
The Battle Creek Falls trail is definitely a must hike. Winter was a trooper for this 4.1 mile hike with 1,800 feet elevation gain.
I took a 3 day trip to Whidbey Island in Washington to stay with on of my good girl friends. We hiked, crabbed, and relaxed at her family beach house. The best part, Winter was reunited with her best dog friend, naughty Nog.
My trail of choice was Dog Mountain, located on the Washington side of the Columbia River Gorge about an hour from Portland. This was Winter first peek ever, so the name of the hike was very fitting.
