Battle Creek Falls

For 2 weeks I worked my butt off and finished getting settled. Winter and I finally made it out on the trails! For our first hike I decided we would chase some waterfalls and fall colors in the Uintas, south of Salt Lake City. The Battle Creek Falls trail is definitely a must hike. Winter was a trooper for this 4.1 mile hike with 1,800 feet elevation gain. Check out the hike details on All Trails, but be sure to stick around here for my honest take on it and some awesome photos.

Battle Creek Trail in Fall

This trail is a must see in the fall with plenty of gorgeous trees along battle creek giving all sorts of fall colors. Winter got to try out her hiking and winter booties for the first time on this hike. Following recommendations from other hikers I decided this was a good chance to break them in. I would highly recommend it to save your pups paws. Plus, she rocks them pretty well, see for yourself!

The first 0.6 mile of the trail is wide and high trafficked until you get to the main waterfall, Battle Creek Falls. Many people turn around at this point, however, there is still another 1.5 miles to go on the Battle Creek Trail. As Winter and I continued, the elevation gain intensified. We had several creek crossings to accomplish. One on a well established bridge, the other two crossings are much more sketchy. Be prepared to get your shoes a little wet, or if you are a dog to get your paws wet.

Overall the hike provided a great introduction for Winter and I to Utah hiking. Oh, and I can’t forget the best parts of this hike, all the waterfalls!

The Waterfalls

Aside from the main attraction, Battle Creek Falls, there are several smaller waterfalls as you continue along the trail. All of them are unique in there own way. As someone who is not used to hiking in areas with elevation and waterfalls, I really enjoyed this waterfall chasing adventure along Battle Creek Trail.
